Grouping results
The
grouping of results
gives you the
possibility to present the outcome of your analysis in a way that is
more attractive.
The standard Analyze function of
SimaPro shows the results of a process tree or network and splits the
total score into the contributions of each sub-process. This is not
always the most convenient way to represent the results in a chart or
table.
The new Analysis group function allows you to define one or more groups
of processes of which the results are displayed next to each other in a
chart or table. This way you can create results graphs in a way that is
more attractive to your audience.

In this example 6 groups are
defined. By selecting the corresponding processes in the network that
you want to belong to that group, you can create your own graphs for
inventory and impact assessment. The grouping can also be shown in the
results tables. The grouping can be saved as a calculation setup for
later reuse.

Some of the processes of this tree are assigned to a group. SimaPro
can now calculate the impact
assessment indicators per group.

The "Top" group is a special group that is always present and
cannot be removed. It contains the top-process and some other processes.
Should you select the top process to be part of another group, the top
group will automatically disappear.
Limitations
There are some limitations in using the Analysis groups function:
- The group analysis function does not allow you to include
processes in a group that are part of a loop. Therefore you cannot
include most processes from the ecoinvent unit library in a group.
Processes that cannot be used are indicated by a grey edge. You can
circumvent this problem by using the system processes of the
ecoinvent libraries.
- The interactive analysis group editor is only available in the
network, not in the process tree.
